Jesus - Like Coca Cola

John 17:3 -
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Everyone (well, almost everyone) wants to go to heaven. The bible says eternal life is knowing God. That means my eternity doesn't begin when I die. Knowing God and Jesus, begins now.

Jesus - Like Coca Cola ? If you're not christian, you thinking what is the deal here? If you are christian, you're thinking how can I compare Jesus to Coca Cola. If you're a missionary, you already know that more people have heard of Coca Cola than of Jesus in this world. Or maybe you're thinking, she's from Africa, Coke is black, she must be one of those Black Jesus types... :) Nope, why Jesus - like Coca Cola? Because he's the real thing...

In South Africa we have these "nagemaakte"/fake Coke brand called Dixie Cola, well there's also all the supermarkets with theirs, etc.etc... And if you taste it, you know that this is not Coke... and if you like me and love Coke, it's hard to even stomach :) But if you had never tasted Coke before...You will argue that it's the same thing... You'd even tell me there's something wrong with me, I'm just being fussy. But you can argue all you want... Until you've tasted the real Coke, you will never know what Coke tastes like, you will not be able to fathom what we are talking about when we say it's different! You just can't understand. Until of course you taste real Coke. Then suddenly everything makes sense....

In the same way, Until you "taste"/"taste and see that the lord is good"/surrender/get to know Jesus, you really don't understand what we're talking about. You think you have a great life, you think that it's exactly the same, that I'm just being fussy, that I'm just making a bigger deal, but until you taste Jesus, you do not really know the fulness of life, and not just now, but experiencing eternity now...God didn't make us to go to church, or to live in rebellion, addicted to our lusts forever without him, he created us to worship him and to love him...to know him... And it's this knowing that makes all the difference...

John 1:11-13 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21  20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God

Isaiah 53: 4-5
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,

and by his wounds we are healed.
